Puppy Classes Edinburgh, What to Expect

These are blocks of 4 or 5 weeks of 50 minute classes, run in a spacious hall, with outside space and on street parking. I run small classes so I can give individual attention to all the owners and puppies and keep things as relaxed as possible.

Puppy Classes

We will cover:

Calmness
Relationship building
Proximity & Orientation - vital for recall and lead walking
Focus and engagement with you
Confidence
Disengagement
Foundations for loose lead walking and recall
Household manners
Play and socialisation
Troubleshooting puppy behaviours e.g. biting, toileting
Preventing unwanted behaviours developing
Enrichment

Each session will be supported by notes, links to relevant videos and additional resources. A private whats app group will be set up to send info through and to provide support throughout the block.

Training Classes

Puppy Classes - £130

If booking a class and would like a pre or post 1-2-1 this would be discounted to £55 (1hr).

There will be an opportunity to do some group training walks in Colinton to put training into practice in the environment and to join a free whats app group.

Puppy Classes - For puppies 10-20 weeks*see below for vaccination advice

Sunday - 31st May - 9.30 -10.20 am for 5 weeks (not 19th June) - venue - Currie Community centre but please note session on the 7th June will be held at the secure wooded area at Citidogs Swanston - 1 space left
Sunday - 31st May - 10.30-11.20 am for 5 weeks (not 19th June) - Currie Community Centre (as above)- 4 spaces left

Monthly Group Classes

(Mixed aged for puppies/dogs who have trained with me)

Colinton Scout Hall - Thursday mornings.

*Vaccinations

• Puppies ideally should have completed their primary vaccinations.

• Some schedules (e.g. Lepto 4) mean there may be a longer gap between doses.

• Early, controlled socialisation has big benefits for puppies and a strong role in preventing behaviour struggles.

To minimise risk until they are fully vaccinated:

Puppies should be carried in to avoid outdoor contamination
They will have their own water bowl
They should avoid close contact with other puppies (unless they are fully vaccinated).
